Charles Parisi has over thirty years of entrepreneurial experience, having worked for start-up companies as well having successfully launched or funded multiple start-up companies. His experience in marketing, sales and distribution in industries ranging from consumer packaged goods and nutritional supplements to financial services and non-profits has been marked by creativity, discipline and engaged enthusiasm and resulted in well over $1 billion in sales in his various endeavors, many of which represented first-to-market products and distribution strategies.
After selling his primary company in 2002, Charles launched his marketing organization, Quintessence, to optimize the marketing capital for early stage companies where he has an investment interest. Charles is the CEO of Quintessence and Assurance Venture Associates, the entity through which he invests in primarily consumer-focused, early stage companies.
After having met Father Joe Carroll in 1999, Charles commenced a stretch of service to non-profits including serving on the Board of Directors of Father Joe’s Villages, Toussaint Academy, and La Cuna, as well as the Marketing Committee for the Hospital Infantil de las Californias. He currently serves as Vice Chair and is a Founding Board member of The School for Entrepreneurship & Technology and Vice Chair of Convivio, an Italian culture and heritage organization. Having a passion for helping “advantaged” kids from inner city environments, which is firmly rooted in his personal foundation and upbringing, Charles continually looks for opportunities to deliver his own ACE program for youth (Accountability, Character, Excellence) providing educational opportunities through a focused, collaborative approach. He is also the proud co-founder with his daughter of Songs For Shelter (www.SongsForShelter.com), an annual concert raising awareness and funds supporting homeless teens living on the streets of San Diego.
When Charles isn’t working and engaged in community activities, he is an active participant in many different sporting activities. Whether it is playing basketball, racquetball, tennis or hitting the gym, he enjoys spending his time playing or watching sports, staying abreast of business, science and all things game theory and making progress on the books he has started writing. Of course, a weekend wouldn’t be complete without good wine, good conversation and the company of good people. However, the most important aspect of his life is being a father to an outstanding, smart, talented and compassionate teenage daughter, Ava, the person who brings light to his life.
