Why I Volunteer With Convivio

Anthony Contasti is a long time resident of the Little Italy area with family ties to Little Italy dating back over 100 years. His grandparents emigrated from Sicily and Italy, his mother was born in Little Italy over 100 years ago, his father settled in San Diego from Wisconsin. With ties to the fishing industry his maternal grandfather fished on the Star of India and his mother and grandmothers worked in the local tuna canneries. As an alum of Washington Elementary School and baptized at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Anthony has a special connection to the neighborhood. Now retired after 44 years in the Aerospace, Telecommunications and Insurance industries, Anthony volunteers his time as President of the Italian American Golf Association, Our Lady of the Rosary Church and Convivio and is a member of the Sons and Daughters of Italy. It is his commitment to serve and support the Italian American community that continues the legacy and the inherited spirit of our heritage.
