Our current social and educational setting, AmiciBar Caffè + Heritage House serves as an important Italian cultural resource for Little Italy, offering programs, events, and incredibly good espresso. But first, a history: In 2014, the historical cottage was relocated to its current location adjacent to the Little Italy Dog Park. In its original location (W. Date Street between Columbia and India Streets), the home belonged to the Giacalone family, a prominent fishing family in San Diego. The current site was once home to Bayside Social Center, serving the community through various programs–especially for the children of the neighborhood–offering English lessons, dances, crafts, and the like. Bayside Community Center is now located in Linda Vista, providing vital resources for the community.
AmiciBar Caffè + Heritage House is Little Italy’s only nonprofit espresso bar and cultural hub—cultivating culture, community, and great coffee. Come to a place where folks can join together and engage in some community building while enjoying delicious espresso and tea drinks in our idyllic park setting. Come check out the great atmosphere, welcoming events, and delicious drinks while doing something good for the neighborhood!
